OT: what's your religion

yes, the idea was from the stuff at the official BBS, but I'm also very interested in religion.

So I'm wondering what you believe in, and to what extent?

I don't want to start this huge discussion about right and wrong and what peolpe are supposed to believe and stuff, I just want to know [img]smile.gif[/img]

i generally follow my own beliefs but as to belonging to an oragnised religon i'ma catholic/wiccan (its a long story)

I'm in the Swedish Christian Church, but I want to leave it, because I do not believe in God.

in a way you can, i have catholic beliefs but i don't follow it all for example the no contraception is something which i wouldn't bother with, as is the whole being gay is a sin that some people take on and the if you don't confess your sins you'll go to hell etc, but the whole methodical aspect facinates me. and i got into wicca when i was about 11/12 so i'm hoping that made some sense anyway cherish used to preactise wicca and she's a catholic too.

My mum is Catholic. My dad is Greek Orthodox on paper but really not so much. I'm nowhere in between, even though I was baptised and confirmed yadda yadda...

I believe in myself and the power of the universe.
I believe I am the only one who can make me happy and I am responsible for my own life. If I don't like something it's up to me to change it. That goes for the way the world works, societal problems and global affairs. That doesn't mean I have plans to single handly fix everything that I think is wrong in the world but it does mean that I believe in contributing what I can, when I can to making the world a more positive place.

I believe in Karma. I believe in kindness, compassion and that all things in life are impermanent (which is a Buddhist philosophy)

I find religion interesting and I love learning about what other people believe in. I find Buddhism most intriguing as it requires you to for the most part be logical and not take a leap of faith. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yep, I did practice Wicca and I am Catholic [img]smile.gif[/img] I think it's fine to mesh beliefs. There are some things I disagree with in the Catholic church...some of the beliefs are unreasonable and outdated for our society.

Wicca is a fast growing religion and I believe its values are something that everyone can learn from. It's very spiritual and deals with nature and is very much about the environment as well as personal spirituality [img]smile.gif[/img]

Other things I believe in are Karma (like the three-fold rule in Wicca) and Fate.

I was christened in the C of E but I really don't believe in God. I just try to be as good a person as I can be. I don't think you need to have religion to do that [img]smile.gif[/img]

As far as I'm concerned, religion has done more harm than good in the world!

Couldnt agree more with that Terry!

But I was christened, confirmed & all of that, but I never go to church, and I dont know if I believe in God or not (havent really made up my mind about that yet)
